Apart from the regular savings accounts, following are some of the other types of savings accounts available at banks in India:

  • Joint Account: This is a savings account than can be operated by more than one account holder
  • BSBDA Account: It is a Basic Saving Bank Deposit Account with no requirement of minimum balance. A few banking services come free of cost with this account. However, there is a limit of maximum 4 transaction during a month.
  • Minors’ Account: In this type of account, the minor child is the first holder of the account, operated by parent/guardian. 
  • Self operated Minors’ Account : In this type of account, the minor above 10 years of age can singly operate the account.
