The banker is the Lessor or a Landlord, while the locker holder is the Lessee or a Tenant. In

addition to this the RBI has defined the relationship as a bailee and bailor relationship because

Bank needs to provide proper protection to the vault in which the locker is located. The duty of a

bailee is to take care of the goods given to him by the bailor.
